A Project Corsair Organization has been established to ensure the project is completed with proper guidance and accountability. This includes:

Project Corsair is led by alumni of Northeastern University’s Men’s Rowing program. Our goal is to preserve a unique piece of rowing history and honor the legacy that helped build the future of NU rowing.Â

This project is open to everyone who cares about rowing, history, boat restoration or Northeastern. All are welcome to learn more, get involved, and support the effort.
Corsair Restoration Plans and Needs

Project Fundraising and Goals
A $20,000 project budget is planned. This includes the following estimates.

$2,500 to NU Men's rowing for Corsair

$9,500 for materials and supplies
-
$8,000 for boat transportation and support for the Finger Lakes Boating Museum.

Restoration timeline estimated at 15 to 18 months from August 2026

Anyone interested in helping with Project Corsair there are various options to help.

This is an all volunteer project

Help with actual hands on restoration work at the FLBM in Hammersport NY. Work sessions are planned every 3 to 4 weeks for about a 3 day period.

Project Corsair has established a GoFundMe page to gather funds to see Project Corsair succeed in its mission. Note that at this time, Project Corsair is NOT a 501c3 charitable organization and contributions are NOT tax deductible. Here are some incentives to support this restoration project.
