Rowing shell technology was starting to change fast in 1975.  NU purchases a composite shell from Pocock and the 1975 Varsity rows that new boat, "Asa S Knowles" throughout the 1975 season.

Jay Britt recalls the Corsair still being used at Riverside up through 1979.  We have no record of the Corsair being raced after 1974.   We look forward to further input from alumni.
As the 1V moved into the Pocock composite hull “Asa S. Knowles” in 1975, the 2V took over the “sister” Donoratico “Athena” and raced to back to back Silver medals at the IRA in 1975 and 1976.

In 1978, NU purchases a new composite Pocock named the "G Ernest Arlett" after the first coach of NU rowing, Ernie Arlett.

Donoratico is going out of business at this time as others have perfected the composite boats.
