1974 Corsair History

Corsair Transitions to 2V Racing Shell

74 JV at IRA in Corsair.jpg

1974 was a transition year for the Corsair.  The boat was not the easiest to row and the boat was now to be used by NU's JV crew.

The JV went on to win a Bronze Medal in the 1974 IRA championship in the Corsair.  Thus showing the performance pedigree was still there for winning crews.

IRA JV medal winners included:

  • Bow, Dave Coughlin

  • 2 - Jon Hill

  • 3 - Rick Hart

  • 4 - Walter Burke

  • 5 - John Sladek

  • 6 - Grant Adams

  • 7 - Mark Lucus

  • 8- Paul Martindale

  • Cox - Bill Strobel

The 1V rowed a “sister” Donoratico “Athena” to a Sprints Bronze.

But 1974 appears to be the last year NU used the Corsair in competition.
